I personally recommend it for you all, even though you have to leave on 26th night (Soon after Utsav); This could be arranged properly, such a way that you have leave on 26th night, 11:00 PM around from Dharwad, private bus and reach Blore next day, attend this summit and the very next day (sunday) could be spent in Blore.

Indexing
A Simple Index for Entry- Sequenced File,Entry-Sequenced Files of Data Objects, Indexes that are too large to hold in Memory, Indexing to provide access by Multiple keys, Retrieval Using Combinations of Secondary keys.

Consequential Processing and The Sorting of Large Files: A Model for Implementing Consequential Processes, Application of the Model to a General Ledger Program, Extension of the Model to include Mutiway Merging, A Second Look at Sorting in Memory, Merging as a Way of Sorting Large Files on Disk.
HASHING: Introduction, A Simple Hashing Algorithm, Hashing Functions and Record Distribution, Collision resolution by progressive overflow, Buckets.


EXTENDIBLE HASHING: Working of Extendible Hashing, Implementation, Deletion, Extendible Hashing Performance.

Objective is to give more time for study holidays :-)

Revision Class | Revised Lesson Plan for this week

Please note the change in timings of revision class.
Hi, I have planned a revision class for you on (28/Oct/2010) from 12:40PM to 1:30PM.

I recommend you to bring textbook (Michael J. Folk, Bill Zoellick, Greg Riccardi- File Structures-An Object Oriented Approach with C++ -, 3rd edition, Addison-Wesley) if possible.

What all will be covered in the revision class ?
A quick glance would be had for what has been dealt till date (Data Compression - Key Sorting).

Lets have a quick look at the mapping from Textbook to Syllabus.


In the remaining part of this week, Indexing will be dealt. 
Indexing is Chap 3 as per Syllabus and Chapter 7 as per Textbook.

Please inform all your friends to attend the FS class tomorrow and be benefited.

      What you should know about me? -

I graduated from SDM in 2007 and Mr.Mayur is a good friend of mine. | finished my MS in quality systems engineering and currently working in Montreal.

Why am I starting this discussion?

To everybody who is in their 5th semesters and have a calling to pursue higher studies- or for that matter everyone who wants to think not of JOB after engineering but a more bigger picture. Being an alumnus, I want to help/guide students at SDM about higher education- especially Canada.

What is your work: Required to do Research & Development & Innovation on Mobile Applications; download various softwares and explore them for the same.

You will be given with all the required computing resources, and you are required to work in the office itself (Tejaswinagar,address will be given).

What is required from you : Willingness to work; Curiosity; Pro activeness; Quick in learning new technologies; Self Learner and be Experimental in your work, Learn new technology by Exploration.
